fddl started as a Rust project when I was trying to learn Rust before I started learning Swift. I had been talking to a coworker friend about fiddler crabs. I thought the name sounded funny, so I bought it. And here we are. Not at all where it started.
I had decided to host Bethany’s site on Neocities (great platform, everyone should support them), but life circumstances changed and I decided to self host. Odd, right? Seems easier.
But, when I was hosting on Neocities, I was using Eleventy to build her site. Which made me curious on what a static site generator would look like if it was written in – yep, you guessed it – Swift, but using Markdown as the way to write content.
